about

I cannot tell you that I always wanted to be a photographer or even that I always had a love of the art. It wasn’t until the birth of my daughter that I found my inspiration to capture those special moments that spoke to my heart and it was then that I began my journey with photography.

I started my career photographing children and families. I was reluctantly convinced to photograph my first wedding some three years later. I absolutely loved photographing that wedding and have never looked back since.

I met my husband Bryan in 2005 and he joined my business shortly after. We soon discovered that we were more powerful as a team, not just in business but in life as well. We were married December 2006 in Central Park, New York City with just our parents and brothers in attendance.

At the beginning of 2009 I was asked a very simple, yet pointed question, “Why do you take pictures?” I found myself fumbling for an eloquent answer and realized I did not have one. That one question got me thinking, a lot, about who I was as a photographer and why I wanted to be a photographer. What exactly is it that keeps me picking up my camera to take pictures of people and continually strive to become better at it? The answer was so simple once I stood back and thought about the events that I truly love to photograph and the moments in them that inspire me. Every photo shoot is a celebration: a celebration of love, a celebration of a birthday or an anniversary,  a celebration of graduation or first steps, a celebration of family, a celebration of life, a celebration of you… I take pictures because I believe that everyone’s life deserves to be celebrated. I am a photographer because I believe that everyone’s life is important enough to be documented. Your life is your legacy, and it is an honor to be able to celebrate with you.
